We've built a tool for importing backdated lead records into your process. Import files can be as large as 5000 records and should be in CSV format. Remember this upload tool is for historical data only.
1) Set up a LeadGen campaign with data fields, tiers and channels, and other settings as desired,
2) Open your LeadGen campaign and click on Posting Details in the side nav bar on left;
3) If you'd like to run a test on your LeadGen campaign first, locate the Submit a Lead link and use the resulting form to run a single test lead to verify your campaign is functional; once you’ve successfully submitted a lead, you can view the results by clicking the Reports > Campaign Performance link at the bottom of your left side nav;
4) Once you’ve verified the campaign works, you’re ready for a bulk import: underneath the Submit a Lead link, find ‘Import a Batch of Leads’ and click on the link to Upload historical Lead Data via CSV;
5) At the new Import Leads page, click the link to Generate a sample file to see required fields;
6) The sample CSV that is generated will identify required columns you need to include in your bulk import CSV file;
-
- Date: this is the historical (yesterday or older) date you want associated with the lead;
- Status: this column requires you to identify a Lead Status chosen from the following list: (e.g., use 'Sold' to represent a successfully sold lead) Processing, FilteredInvalidDataField, FilteredByCampaignRules, FilteredByThirdPartyRules, RejectedByTierRules, RejectedByChannelRules, RejectedByResponse, ReturnedFromAllChannels, Sold, Pending;
- CampaignId: this is the Campaign ID# otherwise known as the CID;
- CampaignAdvertiserId: this is the ID# associated with the Advertiser identified at your Campaign's Basic Details page;
- AffiliateId: this is the ID# associated with the Affiliate to which the lead should be attributed;
- Revenue: this is the amount the lead sold for;
- Commission: this is the amount earned by the affiliate for the sale;
- TimesSold: this is the # of times the lead was sold;
- MaxTimesCanSell: this setting is managed at the LeadGen campaign's Responses page under Exclusivity; it refers to the maximum amount of times a lead can be sold;
- TierId: this is the ID# for the Tier through which the lead was distributed;
- ChannelId: this is the ID# for the Channel through which the lead was distributed;
- ChannelAdvertiserId: this ID# represents the advertiser to whom the lead was sold;
- (Your custom data fields and the data you want to populate into each column)
7) Once you’ve created your CSV, click the Choose File button to browse and select it; the file name should display in the adjacent text field;
9) IF some rows were not uploaded due to errors, you can view a summary in the text area that will appear at the bottom of that screen; next click the button to the right to generate a CSV of Failed Rows that makes a file for you to correct any data in the failed rows. Once you've made corrections, re-upload by repeating step #s 8 & 9;
10) Once you’ve successfully imported all intended records/rows, you can view these in the Campaign Performance report and click the link in the Leads column to drill into the Lead Details report.
