Channel Response

In order for LinkTrust to know whether a buyer accepted or rejected a lead, LinkTrust must know what to look for in the response after a lead is sent.  Use this page to configure the channel so it can interpret responses returned from the buyer. Additional data can be parsed from the accept and reject responses.  It is recommended that you refer to the Posting Instructions of the buyer in order to configure this page. If instructions are not available or incomplete, submit a test post to the channel so LinkTrust can capture a response, then use that response as a template for configuring this page.

Accepted Response Keywords

Enter phrases or keywords that appear in the response from the buyer which indicate to LinkTrust that the buyer accepted the lead.  Make sure that each phrase or keyword is entered on a new line.

Rejected Response Keywords

Enter phrases or keywords that appear in the response from the buyer which indicate to LinkTrust that the buyer rejected the lead.  Make sure that each phrase or keyword is entered on a new line.  LinkTrust automatically detects common web and server errors and will react as if the lead was rejected if the buyer returns one of these errors.

If lead is accepted by the buyer

If the channel is configured as a post and the max sale is set to 1, you may specify the URL to redirect consumer's when the channel accepts the lead. If the channel is configured as a ping or the max sale is greater than 1, this option is not available.  The default option will redirect consumers to the success response of the campaign.  You may also configure a specific URL or redirect to a URL returned in the response of the buyer by adding the start and end tags around the URL which is returned in the buyer's response.

If the response is unrecognized

If the buyer returns a response which has no recognized keywords or errors, this setting will tell LinkTrust whether to consider the lead accepted or rejected by the buyer.  As a precuation, the default is set to "Consider the Lead Rejected by the Buyer".  This protects you from assuming that the lead was accepted.

Note:  if the lead was rejected by all channels, the consumer will be redirected to the "Rejected by All Channels" failure response location.

Capture the Reason the Lead is Rejected

If the buyer returns a reason within their response that explains why the lead was rejected, LinkTrust can capture it for reporting purposes.  To use this feature, check the box and enter a Start Tag and End Tag.  Tags are any character that is unique to the beginning and ending of the value.   For example, a tag could be <start>, ID, description, <>, etc.  These tags should surround the reason within the response.  Adding these tags tells LinkTrust where to find the reason within the response.

There may be times when the rejected response isn't surrounded by a Start or End tag.  You can still capture this response by placing these start and end tokens as placeholders to capture the entire response.

StartTag - [=RESPONSE_START=]

EndTag - [=RESPONSE_END=]

parse_additional_data

Example: I'm getting a server response from my advertiser like this - 'Duplicate'.  I want to capture 'Duplicate' for my Rejected Response.  I would place [=RESPONSE_START=]  as the Start Tag and make the End Tag [=RESPONSE_END=]

LinkTrust will capture the value of 'Duplicate' and store it as the rejected value.

Capture the Revenue if the Lead is Accepted

If the buyer accepts the lead, LinkTrust can capture the revenue dynamically from the response.  To use this feature, see the Channel Settings page.

Capture a Advertiser Ref ID if the Lead is Accepted

If the buyer returns a transaction ID within their response, LinkTrust can capture it for reporting purposes. To use this feature, check the box and enter a Start Tag and End Tag.  Tags are any character that is unique to the beginning and ending of the value.   For example, a tag could be <start>, ID, description, <>, etc.  These tags should surround the ID within the response.  Adding these tags tells LinkTrust where to find the ID within the response.

There may be times you will want to capture the entire response as the Advertiser Ref ID or there aren't an start or end tags around the ID you wish to capture.  In this case, you may use these tokens as placeholders to capture the entire response.

StartTag - [=RESPONSE_START=]

EndTag - [=RESPONSE_END=]

By placing these token in the open fields, LinkTrust will capture the entire response from the Advertiser as the Advertiser Reference ID.

You can also place one of these tokens in the Start or End tag to capture portion of the server response.

Example: I'm getting a server response from my advertiser like this - ID=1523998.  I want to capture 1523998 for my Advertiser Ref ID.  I would place ID= as the Start Tag and make the End Tag [=RESPONSE_END=]

ARID_one_tag

LinkTrust will capture the value of 1523998.
